At Landal Kielder Waterside we want your trip to be the best you’ve ever had. Onsite there is loads to pick from; there is a pool, gym, steam room and sauna, lots of activities on and off the water, a shop, cafe, bar and restaurant and so much outside space to explore it’s hard to know where to begin.
Archery is one of the oldest sports in the world and was traditionally used to hunt. In modern times it is often shown in the media as a powerful weapon, think Katniss Everdeen from the Hunger Games and Hawkeye from the ever popular Marvel films franchise.
Archery requires skill, composure and accuracy. It is recognised as an Olympic sport and has been since 1900. It is deceptively tricky and our instructors will be on hand to teach you what you need to know to hit the target spot on.

Find out moreBy trying out our Crossbow in the forest in our fun and relaxed environment, you will be having quite a different experience from those who first used it. The Crossbow dates back to 4 B.C and was invented by China, although it is said Greece invented one around the same time. The Crossbow was used in many medieval battles and was considered one of the most deadly weapons mainly because it could penetrate a soldier’s armour. It was even once banned by a Pope!
