Covid 19 – Latest Update 13th May 2020

Having reviewed the Government’s latest guidance, the Partners in the Kielder Water & Forest Park Development Trust have taken the decision that the Park will not reopen on Wednesday 13 May 2020. Angling facilities will also remain closed in the area.
We ask visitors not to visit as we need time to ensure that when facilities within the Park, including toilets and car parks do reopen, this can happen in a way that best follows Covid Secure guidelines and protects the safety of our employees, our visitors and our neighbours.
A phased re-opening is being planned, starting with some smaller car parks (those which have no associated facilities) and when they do open we will ask visitors to please respect local communities and stay away from residential areas.
We appreciate that until we fully open, this may be disappointing, but we trust people will understand that this is a difficult situation and that reopening plans must be made in a way that takes into consideration the safety and wellbeing of everyone.
Therefore, in support of staff, visitor and local community safety, we would ask people to continue to stay local and avoid travelling to the Park at the moment. We will provide an update on Monday, regarding reopening plans.
