Discover Fishing at Kielder Waterside

Cast your line into the stunning Kielder Water.

Kielder Water is Northumbrian Water’s boat fishery and with over 2,000 acres of water to explore, you can try a different spot every time you fish. With a fleet of 15 fully equipped motor boats, the huge lake offers exhilarating fishing for both enthusiast and competition anglers alike. Bank anglers are also spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing a spot to fish with over 20 miles of shoreline along the Lakeside Way. Please check with onsite rangers for further details.

Permits are available from Kielder Waterside from 6.00am and from Tower Knowe Visitor Centre from 10.00am daily (please note Tower Knowe is a seasonal site).

Up to two children aged under 17 years can fish for free with a family permit. Up to two children under 17 can fish free when one parent/guardian buys a standard day permit.

Full day – hire from 8.30am up to 8.00pm. Depending on sunset times.

Couples permit – T&Cs apply and can be found when booking online. This permit allows cohabiting couples, partners and or spouse to fish together, with up to two of their children or grandchildren under the age of 17. Please note proof of cohabiting may be required i.e. utility bill. The shared catch limit for this permit is 12 fish in total.

Two rod permits – T&Cs apply and can be found when booking online. This permit allows an individual angler to fish with two rods.

Concessions permits – T&Cs apply and can be found when booking online. This permit applies to any angler at the age of 65 or over or who has a blue badge.

T&C’s for all permits are shown when booking online. When you reach your catch you must stop fishing immediately.

Up to two children under 17 can fish free when one parent/guardian buys a standard day permit.

Parking charges are included in your fishing permit price.

Boats must be pre-booked in advance.

Day permits are available to buy from Kielder Waterside shop or Tower Knowe. Permits can also be bought in advance using your debit or credit card by calling on 01434 251000  or online at www.bookwhen.com/watersideparksnorth

Please note your EA rod licence must be purchased online at https://www.gov.uk/fishing-licences/buy-a-fishing-licence  Due to government changes we are no longer able to sell a rod licence.
